Marshfield swept visiting Cottage Grove in a pair of District 4 prep basketball league games at the Pirate Palace, Coos Bay Tuesday. The Lady Pirates opened the evening with a 45-26 over the Lions to remain in second place in league with two-games remaining. Marshfield (5-1, 15-5) goes to first-place Marist Catholic (5-0, 14-5) on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Marshfield’s boys snapped a six-game losing streak with a 72-57 win over CG. The Pirates (1-5, 9-12) have a non-league game at Newport (1-5, 7-12) on Friday.

North Bend’s basketball teams fell to visiting Junction City Tuesday night in a pair of District 4 league basketball games. The Bulldogs girls (1-5, 6-15) lost 41-26 to JC, while the boys (1-5, 7-12) dropped a 67-41 game to the Tigers. North Bend plays at Cottage Grove on Friday.
